What I have used:

small brown paper bags

red bakers twine

stickers

black marker

green garland

fairy lights

I started by hand writing the numbers on the paper bags using a black marker.

Then I just added the bakers twine to the bags [mine came with punched holes already] and after that, I added stickers on the back of each bag. I love these cute whimsical stickers, they give it a little extra Christmas feel.

My stairs are always a tricky spot to decorate, so this year I’ve decided to add my garland to the banister.

I also added some fairy lights and then the little paper bags all mixed up.

My daughters are already excited for this, but I still have to fill it with little surprises which will happen this week. I usually add a few chocolates and then things like stickers, little notes, ear rings, pins, etc.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

You’ve done it again with another gorgeous simple Christmas idea. Love the paper bag idea for an advent calendar but love it, even more, hanging with garland along the stairs. Pinned 🙂

Aw Thanks Marie. On the stairs it’s really easy to get to them, although my girls aren’t that small anymore, but it’s still a comfortable spot for the calendar.

How do you manage to always make things look so stylish and elegant my friend? Love this beautiful advent calendar and it’s so simple to make too. You just know how to combine things and turn them into something wow. It’s all those little things like writing the number and spelling them that make a big difference to the whole look. Love it!!
