Minimal After-Christmas Winter Mantel

How to decorate a minimal after-Christmas Winter mantel and still have that cozy feel.

We finally made it home last Friday after a long flight and it’s so nice to be home again. I needed that break and it was great being in Canada, but now back to reality! After unpacking, laundry, groceries and celebrating my girls 10 th birthday I took down all of the Holiday decor, except the little lights. Still leaving those up to keep up the cozy feel. But more on that in another post.

Minimal decor can be cozy! I cut some olive branches from the yard [if you don’t have olive trees handy, winter greens are great too].

And then lights! I kept all of my fairy lights and light strings out. They add so much coziness to it all. This big bulb light string is from Primark a while back.

I found the little wooden led ampersand at Chapters Indigo in Canada, it’s still on sale right now! Here’s a cute similar one.

The bamboo candles were a flea market find last year and I have used them over and over in different spots.

The “let’s stay home” sign is a free printable I grabbed from Hannah at We lived happily ever after! I love all of her prints and subscribed to her blog to get them. And for my homebody-self this one is just perfect!

And at night it looks like this… so cozy!

Hi! Visiting via Totally Terrific Tuesday. I saw your Let’s Stay Home sign and decided to click on your link. Just this week I found a free printable with this same wording and decided to use it in a frame that I change out with the seasons. This is a hard time to decorate. Christmas decor in January depresses me and it is a bit early for Valentines. Your mantel looks January perfect. I will be your newest follower on Bloglovin.

Katrin I just got homesick seeing your olive branches. There are very few things I miss but the olive branches is one of them especially at this time of the year when the harvest is on. Your mantel is lovely and I too have kept lights out for a cozier feel. I’m glad you are back home and enjoying your home.
