Cute Rock Heart Basket Planter

How to make this cute rock heart basket planter that can be used way past Valentine’s Day.

Hello friends & Happy Monday. Today is a new edition of our Int’l Bloggers Club and we are all sharing something to do with Valentine’s Day. Not sure if you are celebrating it or not, but that’s ok, because my simple little project I am showing you today doesn’t necessarily have to be just for V-day. In fact, it is pretty neutral and looks just cute any other day as well.

What I have used:

white basket [mine was a flea market find] this one would work too but is a bit larger

small white rocks

hot glue gun & pencil for tracing

Start by drawing a heart shape on your planter using a pencil. It doesn’t have to be perfect, since the rocks will cover it. Just to give you an idea.

Next, using a hot glue gun, stick rock by rock onto the traced heart.

Place your favourite plant inside & you’re done!

I added my planter to a little centerpiece with some candles and cut olive branches.

So, as you can see, even if you’re not really into pink and red Valentine’s decor, this little heart basket planter can still work and stay up way longer too!

Awwwww Katrin, that looks beautiful and it would make a lovely housewarming gift too. It’s simple but so effective with the stones glued on like that. Love how we both did a rocky kinda Valentine’s craft for this challenge 😀

Great idea, Katrin! Your rock heart baskets would be lovely for wedding decor too, especially an outdoor wedding.

Oh my Katrin, this is so simple and subtle but also so pretty. And yes you can use it all year long. It seems like many of us are tired of all the red and pink. Neutral is best I think.

This is so simple and sweet Katrin. It’s a perfect gift idea as well. A little houseplant would be wonderful given in a basket like this.

I love the neutral look! It gives it so much more versatility. I also love that you picked up the basket at a thrift store. Such a great way to give new life to things that someone no longer wanted. Thanks so much for sharing at Sweet Inspiration!

Thanks so much Amy! Yes, re-using is such a great way to not always spend a ton and have unique decor pieces as well.
