Simple Fall Kitchen Decor & Painted Chairs!

Happy Fall everyone! Not quite yet, I know, but here on the blog, YES! I mean, we are in September already, yay! My favourite season of all, even here in Spain where it’s still hot. But who cares. I bought two pumpkins! Let’s see how long they last. Today I’m sharing my simple Fall kitchen decor & my painted chairs here on the blog. I’m so ready. Hope you are too!

This summer I slowly gave my kitchen a mini-mini makeover by painting the chairs, adding stamps to the curtains and just moving things around and deep cleaning. Nothing big, but wow does it make a difference! It’s the little things y’all! HERE is how the kitchen nook looked like so far. [my daughter liked the curtains so much, they’re actually in her room now]

I had this big sign above our kitchen breakfast nook forever, but decided to just change it up a bit by pinning a dish towel over it. I also hung it the other way round. So easy, such a big difference! If I want to go back to the other sign, I just have to remove the dish towel. I bought it at Walmart in Canada last Christmas. Find it HERE. Love it!

I moved the clock a bit lower, next to the sign. This way, we have better access to the plugs on the wall below the clock. I put the snake plant in front of them, but if we need to use them we just move the plant. Easy.

For the centerpiece I kept it really simple. A water hyacinth place mat as a base with this wooden tray on top of it.

And then just a cute plant, a string of light [yes, it’s that time again!] and of course a cute pumpkin! I found it at Ikea the other day and couldn’t leave without it!

And now the chairs! They were all black before and needed a paint job. Also, my hubby really didn’t like the black that much, he wanted some colour. So, I kept one dark and spray painted it anthracite grey, because I actually liked the dark chairs very much. Then, one white , the third one in this green and the last chair in this orange.

I think these colors are still kind of neutral, as much neutral as colours can be anyways. And I actually love all warm orange, blush tones, earth tones and greens this season, so you’ll see a bit more of that for sure!

I added these round seat cushions to them, which makes them so much comfier and cosier.

Moving over to one of my favourite little spots on the counter. I added crates to my counter to give them a bit more storage but also cozy feel. They hold jars with food we use daily, like seeds, cereal, cocoa, etc.

I’ve added another little pumpkin and a cute little snake plant as well as a printed photo from our New York trip this summer. It’s a neutral photo and fits in perfectly for Fall I think. Even though it was taken in the summer. And like this I can cherish our trip a little longer, looking at the photo daily.

Looking good Katrin. Everything works so well together and you’re right it’s all those small details that make your space so inviting. Love that dishtowel BTW and the different colored chairs. I’m a big fan of orange, but Fall, bleh not so much 😉

Katrin those pretty soft tones are perfect for the chairs. I love how the kitchen looks now. But then again I have always loved it. I also had a hard time finding pumpkins when living in Greece. It only forces us to be more creative.
