How to make a DIY oversized moon wall decor & Halloween mantel in a simple way.
Happy Faaaalllll!!! I am in my happy season, it is the best time of the year! Temps could be a bit cooler if you asked me, but hey, it’ll get there eventually. There’s just something about cooler weather and pumpkin spice in the air that gives me all the energy and makes me feel so good! This weekend has been cloudy and cool and so my daughter ( who is also a Fall lover ) and I baked a pumpkin pie and pumpkin bread. SO good!
I also made this cute-spooky oversized moon wall decor that I wanted to share here today along with my simple Halloween mantel. It’s also our IBC challenge today and below you’ll find the other ladies`take on Halloween! Make sure to check them out!

Here in Spain, Halloween is becoming a little more popular each year I guess, but it’s by far not the same as in Canada. No one really does trick or treating here and it is hardly ever cloudy or misty or dull outside, so you know, that spooky feeling and that whole Halloween vibe isn’t really here. I decorate a bit each year, for us, because we enjoy it nonetheless.
Not sure, if you remember this oversized wall art I made not too long ago. Well, I used the same poster hanger and it’s pretty much the same tutorial for the poster.
DIY moon poster:
your favourite gift wrap or kraft paper as backing [mine is from Ikea, it was a pack of 3, but it is discontinued now]
glue stick
free man in the moon clipart to print from The Graphics Fairy
Instructions:
Cut your choice of paper according to the size of your magnetic poster hanger. Most gift wrap has dots or lines in the back for straight line cutting.
Next, print the moon printables and cut out, arrange on the background paper and finally stick on using a glue stick. That’s all!
Halloween Mantel Decor
And this is how I styled the oversized moon poster along with my mantel for Halloween. It’s pretty neutral and simple, but I like how it all works so well together.
My Fall decor and also Halloween decor is pretty simple overall. I bought the orange velvet pumpkins this year and am loving the warm colors this time.
The white ceramic pumpkin is an oldie, I’ve had it since we lived in Canada and love to decorate with it every year. This one is similar!
And what would Fall/Halloween decor be without warm candle & fairy lights?? I got these battery operated candle lights this year and let me tell you, I am loving them! They look real and are safe!
And a string of fairy lights add a little extra twinkle!
If you follow my Instagram stories you know that this twig is actually a weed from my backyard that I turned into lovely Fall decor. Now it looks great on the mantel next to the moons and pumpkins I think!
Pin this for later!
And there you have my oversized Halloween moon poster! I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s post and maybe make your own?? Let me know!
Thanks so much for stopping by!

23/09/2019 at 4:19 pmI’m so sorry Katrin, I sound like a broken record, but I looooooove the way you decorate. You make it seem so effortless. You have the most beautiful way of putting things together and creating a soft peaceful vibe that’s filled with surprising interest. Please share your secret, or write a book, so I can try and absorb your uniqueness. Love the oversized moon poster,
Marie
23/09/2019 at 6:26 pmI ditto what Michelle said! Seriously, everything you do has such a calm and serene vibe that I absolutely adore (probably because I’m the complete opposite). Love the simplicity of your Halloween vignette and that it isn’t difficult to recreate.

27/09/2019 at 2:25 pmI have to echo Michelle and say that I too love your style. This poster is perfect for adding a bit of Halloween without going over the top. Here in the states they really go over the top for Halloween. I have never seen so many decorations before. I prefer to keep my decor fallish with just a sprinkling of Halloween, just like your wonderful idea Katrin.
