The weather has cooled down pretty nicely and I love it. So much that I can´t deny Fall is basically around the corner, so why not kick off the start of the new season with some cute and easy DIY paper maché pumpkins? I had no idea how they would turn out, I just started experimenting a little and well, I´m quite happy with these two. My Fall decor is on the simple side, I am not into Fall colours this year at all. Well, I am loving the mustard tones but that is about it. Same with these pumpkins, they are very simple and plain. My daughter mentioned that she had never seen such plain looking pumpkins before, lol. I don´t take it personal.

Easy DIY Paper Maché Pumpkins
What you will need:
plastic bag as pumpkin stuffing
aluminium foil
white napkins or paper towel
short wooden stick from the backyard
I didn´t want the pumpkin to be hollow, thinking it would collapse when putting the stick in the middle at the end.
1. Form a round ball with a plastic bag and wrap aluminium foil around it.
2. Cover in white glue and stick napkin or paper towel scraps all around it. The crunchier, the better!
Let sit and dry for a day or until dry and repeat step 2.
3. Paint with white chalk paint. Let dry. Look for sticks in your backyard or park and poking a hole with scissors first, squeeze sticks in pumpkins, making sure they are tilted a bit to one side.
4. Cut some leaves from an artificial plant of choice, in my case I cut some off of my artificial Ikea sage plant. Stick leaves in beside sticks. Voila!

Have you ever tried paper maché before? I know there are different recipes out there and I have tried one once using flour, but it didn´t work out for me at all! These little pumpkins did though and look so cute with my simple fall decor. Well, I hope you got inspired and make your own!
